Interested in Interesting?

Are you interesting? Better yet, are you Interesting?

From the Interesting Portland site: “The idea behind Interesting is simple: an evening of 20 interesting people each talking about something they love/hate/do/did/know/care about/obsess over… the only requirement is that each presentation be either 3 or 10 minutes long.”

So it’s a bit different from events like Ignite… there’s no set number of PowerPoint slides. You can choose the duration of your presentation. And it can be about pretty much anything, as long as it’s interesting. You can see a bunch of great examples over on the InterestingPDX.com web site, as well as many of the other Interesting websites from around the world (London, Sydney, and Amsterdam, among others).

More importantly, Interesting Portland needs your help. Specifically, Interesting Portland needs your interesting presentation. The Call for Speakers is on the site, so send in your presentation idea. But you better get it in before the deadline of March 5th.

One final thing: there are 50 “cheap & brave” tickets for $11 (that’s practically ten dollars!). Sure, you don’t know who will be speaking or what they’ll be speaking about, but isn’t the promise of witnessing something interesting worth eleven bucks? After that, tickets only go up to $16.

And if you’re into that Facebook thing, you can join the Interesting Portland Facebook group to stay in touch on all the most recent happenings.
