Logobama, Week 34 (the “Drill, baby, drill” and “Wassup” edition)

Eight days until the election! Oh how time flies.

Going into the last week, we’re looking at Logobama.com to end strong. It received it’s second highest donation total during the last week, and over 26,000 Logobamas created. But it’s only going to end strong if you go to Logobama.com, create a Logobama, and donate massive amounts to the campaign. Oh, and last week we got a bit of coverage on Comedy Central’s Indecision2008 blog, which certainly helped the numbers.

In other campaign news, this last week has shown a few examples of the remix culture we live in. Two popular advertising campaigns have been co-opted by the Obama campaign: Terry Tate (Reebok) and Wassup (Budweiser).

Elsewhere online, we’ve been visiting fivethirtyeight.com on a daily basis. Created by Nate Silver, a baseball statistician, FiveThirtyEight (named for the number of electoral votes in the United States) looks at the election through all the polling data, applies a “skew factor” to the results, and tries to predict the outcome of the election. Interesting stuff, especially if you like stats, charts and predictions.

And finally, your Logobama charts. There are only a couple weeks left of Logobama results, so get ‘em while they’re hot!
