“Part of this new era of politics has been learning how to surrender command-and-control aspects of the campaign. If you really want grass-roots participation, then you have to give folks at the grass roots some autonomy to do this in their own way.” – David Alexrod, Obama campaign chief strategist (from the article “A New Hope,” in Rolling Stone, March 20)
Now that Logobama.com has been up for a week, we thought it would be a good time to look back at the results of the social experiment over the last seven days. After all, we didn’t create the site to hoard data… we want to share it, and hopefully you can make some use of it.
As of this writing, with the most recent data we have:
Number of visitors: 8,100+ (from 92 countries)
States with most visitors: California, Illinois and New York
New vs. Returning Visitors: 90.8% new / 9.2% returning
Average time of site: 1 minute, 57 seconds
Number of Logobamas created: 2,365
Number of Logobamas deleted because of inappropriate content: 42 (there are some disturbing people out there on the internet)
Percent of site visitors that created a Logobama: 29.1%
Amount of donations to Obama campaign: $245
Average donation per Logobama (based on amount donated/amount created): $0.10
An unofficial analysis of content puts images of cats and dogs at the top of the pile of most used photos. There are a decent amount of Obama photos, and a bunch of Hillary Clinton, John McCain and George W. Bush. You can view the entire gallery at flickr.com/photos/logobama
Check back next week to see what Week Two has in store.
