Substance Believes in Brew.

Brewfest 1

Here in Portland, the last full weekend in July is always reserved for the Oregon Brewers Festival. For the past 20 years, brewers have been visiting the Rose City to share their tasty alcoholic beverages. This year, 72 breweries from around the United States came to town. For some reason, the mugs this year were these color-changing ones (see above), which really ruined the ability to notice the color of each beer. Kind of lame in my opinion. The color is part of the beer experience.

But anyway, had some delicious beers and a good time was had by all. We (the family) went with our friend Tony C and his kids.

My favorite was the Bison Chocolate Stout, which turns out to be one of DLR’s favorite breweries from the Bay Area. Just another reason we went into business together… good taste in beer.

Now that the Brewfest is over, we’re back to the Substance Brewfest, which features beers from whatever was left over from the open house.

Brewfest 4

We don’t have special mugs (we’re more “drink it out of the bottle” kind of folks), but it also doesn’t cost 4 tokens to get one. While supplies last.
