Random Videos and the YouTube Effect.

According to a recent report by ARS Technica, 36% of all HTTP traffic (that’s like viewing web pages) is made up of streaming video. This compares to 45% of HTTP traffic that’s pulling text and images. (Not sure where Flash falls in these percentages, or where video in Flash falls…) From these percentages, YouTube is now handling 20% of ALL HTTP traffic and over half of the streaming video content online is through YouTube.
