“Information Architect or Experience Architect?” David Lowe-Rogstad at Flashbelt
Websites are no longer websites. Websites are “digital experiences” and might not even be delivered through a browser in the first place. Through Flash, AJAX, mobile and other technologies the old architectures are quickly deteriorating and new ways of interacting with digital information are becoming he norm.
Does this make the information designer secondary in importance to the visual designer, or dare we even say “obsolete?” Or does it make the information designer even more important in their relationship with the visual design and create a need for the information designer to understand what makes an online experience an “experience?”
Through real-world examples and experience, David Lowe-Rogstad will discuss how the role of the information designer is rapidly changing and what new challenges traditional information architecture strategies face in the age of multi-layered digital experiences.
